Welcome to Gawaing-Pilosopo! The purpose of this site is straightforward: it will serve as a “bulletin board” for Filipino philosophers and philosophical enthusiasts, academics and students alike. In this site, you are able to submit and publicize widely (without any advertising cost!) announcements for upcoming philosophical activities in the Philippines and around the world. You are able to post, inter alia, conferences, workshops, seminars, lectures, conference/journal call for papers, scholarships and fellowships, etc. Submissions will be moderated to ensure quality control and to avoid unnecessary clutter.
The site’s creator expects that this portal will bring together philosophers from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao in the hope of eventually overcoming the Balkanization of philosophy teaching institutions and the North-South divide that contribute to the “crucifixion” of philosophy in the country.
The online nature of this bulletin board is a testament to the vision of de-centering institutional and regional priority. If you share this vision, please join us by using this portal to propagate the value of philosophical inquiry to our colleagues, students, and fellow Filipinos.

About Gawaing-Pilosopo
Gawaing-Pilosopo is an online bulletin board that serves as a public portal where Filipino philosophers and enthusiasts, academics and students alike, can post, inter alia, conferences, workshops, seminars, lectures, conference/journal call for papers, scholarships and fellowships, etc. There is no monetary cost for posting your announcements; however, all submissions will be moderated to ensure quality control and to avoid uneccesarry clutter.
