Philosophy in the Philippines

2nd Karunungan Festival

Dear Colleagues,

Attached is a copy of the preregistration form of the second karunungan festival. The second in a series of festivals, it advances the possibility of articulating a philosophy of education for the Philippines in the 21st century in terms of a “schools of the people” by advancing participatory practices of learning from local communities into the democratic educational practices of the classrooms. Panel discussions include theories and exemplars of teaching through the approaches of “the community of inquirers,” “teaching due process and human rights with children,” “artisitic methods of teaching social studies, etc.”

The conference will be held FREE of charge on Aug 29-30 at the OB Montessori School in Greenhills, Mandaluyong City.
