UCL’s Dept. of Political Science is offering a unique Masters degree opportunity in the field of human rights. The aim of the degree is to train future researchers and policy workers in the field (whether destined for academia or the wider human rights world). Students receive training in
A)
1) Theoretical Foundations of Human Rights
2) International Human Rights Standards and Institutions
4) Human Rights Methods and Research (including Methodology in Moral and Political Philosophy; Qualitative and Quantitative Research Methods; Research Project Design; and Moot Court Team Training Exercises)
5) Human Rights Law
In addition students can choose form a variety of option courses including courses in:

Equality Justice and Difference
International Law and Human Rights
Contemporary Political Philosophy I and II
The International Protection of Human Rights
Public Policy
Globalization
International Security
International Development
and many, many more.

Students also write a 10k word dissertation submitted at the end of their degree which is an original piece of research work. Internships with human rights NGOs are encouraged and facilitated during the degree (the School has a special internship database for students to use).
The degree is taught by leading experts and practitioners from the disciplines of political philosophy, international law, law, and political science.
Students form the degree have gone on to work for the UN, the International Criminal Court, Amnesty International, the European Court of Human Rights, and many other human rights organisations, as well as carrying out ground-breaking PhD research in human rights.
